Weill Cornell Epilepsy at New York Downtown Hospital
Weill Cornell Epilepsy of NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center, in affiliation with New York Downtown Hospital, is dedicated to providing the best service and care for people with epilepsy. Our team of specialists is trained in epilepsy, board certified in neurology, and participates in exciting research geared to helping patients with hard to manage seizures.
Our Center is equipped with advanced technology and offers a full array of diagnostic tests for seizure classification and treatment. Our inpatient Epilepsy Monitoring Unit utilizes both video and EEG monitoring to assess the type of epilepsy the patient is experiencing, the frequency and number of seizures, and the onset location of the seizure in the brain. Based on the evaluation, our team of specialists will review with the patient the latest advances in therapies available, including the newest anti-seizure medications, surgical treatment of intractable (hard to treat) seizures, and vagus nerve stimulators.
